American University's School of Public Affairs Graduate Journal
Author: David Trigaux
David is a second-year Government student at American University, where he is focusing on campaign management and government affairs. His interest in politics arose at an early age, when after a family trip to tour several of the nation's national parks, he was told that George Bush wanted to drill for oil there. While he didn't really know what oil was, he did know that Al Gore wanted to save the national parks, and an activist was born. As a result of his introduction to politics, David is passionate about environmental and energy policy and also education policy, as the son of a teacher, nearly a decade serving as a high school debate coach and as a former teacher himself. He has worked on political campaigns in some capacity in every election since 2000, and is currently serving as the President of the Graduate Student Council at for the School of Public Affairs at American University. David was born in Washington D.C., and raised in St. Petersburg Florida. He graduated from the University of South Florida in 2012 with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science.
